412 Postmark
In the postmark project, members learn skills in creating a collection of postmarks and learn history, geography, and other features of towns in Oklahoma, other states, and other countries.
Focus:
- To learn the skills of creating a collection of postmarks
- To learn history, geography, and other features of towns in Oklahoma, other states, and other countries
- To provide an inexpensive hobby for people of all ages
What members can do:
- Collect postmarks (cancellation or markings on an envelope which show where the item was mailed from)
- Make a notebook to store and display your postmarks according to specifications outlined in the manual
- Communicate with postmasters in your county to obtain postmarks, history of the post office or town
- Involve others in collecting postmarks in your family, club, and community
