In the personal development project, members learn to develop an appreciation of family heritage and relationships as well as an understanding of self.


Focus:

  • To develop an appreciation of family heritage
  • To understand family relationships
  • To learn about making choices
  • To recognize the uniqueness of self and others
  • To understand good health, grooming, and manners

What members can do: (Beginner level)

  • Make a Family Tree
  • Discover who the important people are to you
  • Build a Carnival Viewer
  • Learn about Table Manners

What members can do: (Intermediate level)

  • Make a personal Family Heritage Scrapbook
  • Design a Household Task Chart
  • Explore career ideas, options and opportunities
  • Develop a personalized newspaper about you

What members can do: (Advanced level)

  • Compare customs and traditions in different states
  • Visit with older friends or relatives
  • Do a "Shape of Things To Come" inventory
  • Study Alcohol and Drug problems and attitudes
