230 Consumer Education
In the consumer education project, members improve their knowledge and skills in consumerism.
Focus:
- To help you make wise consumer choices
- Recognize needs, wants and resources and set priorities
- Improve your knowledge and skills in consumerism
What members can do: (Beginner level)
- Write poems about your choices as a consumer
- Make a treasure chest of items important to you
- Go on a shopping trip to make the best "buys"
- Design a variety of Fair Exhibits
What members can do: (Intermediate level)
- Compare Garage Sale prices
- Use resources to improve your community
- Put on Skits for family, friends and project group
- Learn to judge clothing prices
What members can do: (Advanced level)
- Survey friends to discover where they shop and why
- Explore career options and opportunities
- Visit savings institutions and banks
- Check out Consumer Affairs departments at various universities
