120 Photography

In the photography project, members will learn to understand and use a camera. They will learn the basic rules of composition and how to get the best pictures they can with the camera they have.


Focus: Adventures With Your Camera: (Beginner level)

  • Learn how a camera works and begin to practice the basic skills of picture taking
  • Members will learn how a camera works
  • Learn how to choose film for a camera
  • Learn how to hold a camera
  • Learn how to take care of a camera
  • Learn the ways to take interesting pictures

Exploring Photography: (Intermediate level)

  • Learn the fundamentals of good photography and begin experimenting with adjustable cameras.
  • Members will learn basic characteristics of adjustable cameras
  • Learn how to use adjustable features to improve their pictures
  • Learn the important ways to improve picture composition to get a better finished photo.
  • Learn how to take action and flash photographs

Mastering Photography (Advanced level)

  • Learn how to make effective use of the adjustable features of your camera.
  • Members in this project are polishing their picture taking skills and may explore optional areas such as darkroom techniques or slide show productions.
  • Members will select areas of specialization to sharpen their skills in some of the following areas:uses of light: natural, photo lamp, or electronic use of lenses and filters special techniques for photographing people, landscapes, nature or sports use of special effects darkroom techniques how to produce a slide show.
