040 Horse
This project helps 4-H'ers learn about horse management and use by providing information in horsemanship, horse judging, and horse management. The objectives for this project are to teach youth life skills of responsibility, citizenship and leadership by learning and participating in horse related activities.
What Members Can Do
- Develop team, leadership and citizenship skills through participation in club projects, horse judging, use and management programs
- Develop care practices that keep horses healthy
- Develop safe horse handling practices
- Develop riding skills through horsemanship programs
- Develop decision making and communication skills through judging and management programs

Project Activities
Project activities include organized curriculum and contests such as horse shows, horse judging, speech and demonstrations, quiz bowl and hippology.
